Teaching Approach:
I enjoy working with students of all ages and have 22 years experience teaching private piano lessons. I work carefully within lessons on good listening habits, rhythm, note-reading, phrasing, interpretation, correct hand position, good sound production and practice methods which are fun and produce positive results. An emphasis is placed on accessing a personal connection to the music at all ages and levels of ability. My students present at least one recital per year and participate in VPTA recitals and informal smaller group performances.

Background:
B.M. Magna cum Laude in Music Education, Hartt School of Music. M.M. in Piano Performance, New England Conservatory. National chamber music competition winner. Extensive performing experience in Boston area and internationally with cellist Andrew Mark, presenting concerts, lectures and master classes in piano and chamber music. Piano faculty, UMass Amherst and Deerfield Academy.
