The Valley Piano Teachers’ Association hosts two student recital events; one in the Winter and one in the Spring. They are held on either the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of December and the 3rd Sunday in May. Check the Events page for specific times.
Depending on how many students participate, there might be two programs for younger and advancing students and sometimes one program dedicated to adult students as well. Parents provide refreshments for a reception following each program.
It is considered an honor to play in these joint recitals as they are meant to showcase teachers’ best-prepared students. Typically a teacher might have 2-4 students in a program.
Thanks to the generosity of the University of Massachusetts’ Department of Music, our recitals are held in Bezanson Recital Hall, which has an excellent piano.
Recitals are coordinated on a volunteer basis. This is an excellent way to serve and get involved in our organization and all members are encouraged to participate in this way.
Watch for an email with the exact dates of the recitals and an invitation to be a volunteer coordinator.
