Teaching Approach:

My goal is to instill a love of music and a joy for playing the piano to students of all ages and abilities. The approach I take is tailor-made for each student to develop aural and reading skills, an understanding of meter, phrasing, and musical ideas within a historical and theoretical context. I teach a stress-free technique that is physiologically based, and that best serves the musical ideas.

Background:

Concert pianist. Private piano teacher; on the piano faculties of Mt. Holyoke College and Westfield State University. An active performer of solo and chamber music recitals. Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SUNY Purchase, and a Master of Music degree from SUNY Stony Brook, with further studies as a Tanglewood Fellow. Teachers include Richard Goode and Gilbert Kalish.
